Happy Friday everyone!📚📚📚 Today I have a special review for you guys! 📚📚📚 As a homeschooling mother and teacher I am always looking for a chance to improve my knowledge of education, child development and parenting. The book Understanding your Child’s Development is a great resource for Muslim Parents who are looking to understand the Cognitive, Physical, Emotional and PsychoSocial Development of their child in an Islamic light with lots of references to Quran and Sunnah. I very much enjoyed reading about all the various psychological elements and stages and connecting them to and Islamic development. I loved the practical examples the authors give in connecting these psychological ideas to Islamic tarbiyah and education. What was most enjoyable was learning from the real life examples from these authors and their experiences in child rearing. This book is a packaged treat for anyone who interacts with children in any respect. Our favorite morning time activity this winter has been cuddling by the fire and playing with our toys while we listen to our audio books. The girls have been really interested in A Year with the Prophet series by @thequantumchronicles which details the life of the Prophet Muhammed as seen through the eyes of a boy named Zayd. It is inspiring to see in our minds eye Zayd's journey as he comes across companions of the prophet and historical events in the time of the Prophet. It was most touching to me when my girls would run around the house and reenact some of the events from the audio series. Part of homeschooling is becoming an ally with your child in their education. @juliebravewriter talks a lot about it. Recently I've been binge listening to her podcasts and me and my daughter have been talking about how we want to tackle our day and making her education her choice rather than something that I push upon her. So this morning she decided she needed to make a doll house room and she made the plans, we talked about it and she is working on it now.
